Therapy Tails Level 2 - Working Skills
Class Details
Therapy Tails Level 2 – Working Skills is a specialized training class in Calgary for dogs and handlers continuing their journey toward becoming a Therapy Dog, Service Dog, or Animal-Assisted Therapy team.
Designed for teams who have completed Therapy Tails Level 1 – Foundations, this class focuses on advancing teamwork, obedience, and manners while introducing essential working and therapeutic skills.
For those pursuing Service Dog certification, we begin building working tasks. For those pursuing Therapy Dog or Animal-Assisted Therapy certification, we focus on the therapeutic skills needed to engage effectively in professional and community settings. Through this process, dogs develop the calmness, confidence, and responsiveness required to work in environments like hospitals, schools, and seniors' residences.
In this 8-week program (8 x 1-hour classes), you’ll develop the skills necessary to facilitate meaningful interactions with the people you and your dog will be supporting. Whether you're a healthcare practitioner, educator, therapist, or an individual training a service dog under Alberta’s owner-trained service dog provision, this course provides the structured guidance and foundational working skills needed to move forward with confidence.
