Walk Wise

Class Details

Walk Wise is a specialized dog training program in Calgary for dogs who pull on the leash. If your walks feel more like navigating rugged off-road terrain than the smooth, scenic route you had hoped for, then Walk Wise is for you!

Your 8-hour (4x2 hour) journey starts inside (classes 1 and 2), away from all those squirrels (and birds, oh my!), smells, and other distractions (like leaves blowing in the wind). In this first leg of the trip, you and your dog will learn basic "driving" skills, like turning, braking, speeding up, slowing down, U-turns, and most importantly, the emergency e-brake! During this stage of the journey, we’ll also focus on developing synchrony (walking as a team), and developing some strategies for navigating distractions.

From there we will head outside into the real-world (classes 3 and 4). In this second and final leg of your journey, you'll refine your skills in real-time as we take the class on the on the road and into the community. Since roadblocks are a normal part of every trip, we offer roadside assistance to help you and dog stay on course!
