An Intuitive Learning Experience for You and Your Dog in Calgary
Hi there! Thank you for visiting this page. I’m so excited you’ve found your way here, whether you’re a brand-new dog guardian or a seasoned professional.
If you don’t already know me, my name is Cat (I know, right?), and I’m the founder of ImPAWSible Possible here in Calgary. I am passionate (and by passionate, I mean obsessed) with the human-canine relationship. This passion was ignited through my own lived experience with my dog Mouse (photo above) who taught me a lifetime of lessons during our 13.5 years together,
Canine Compass has been designed based on the journey that Mouse and I shared together, and all of it’s messy yet beautiful twists and turns. While Mouse is no longer with us as of August, 2024 his life and legacy of learning have left traces in all of my work, particularly Cat’s Compass.
This program is the program that I wish I would have taken over 13.5 years ago when I brought Mouse home from the shelter. I can’t express how excited I am to share this with you.
In the simplest of of terms, Cat’s Compass is a program intended to guide you towards a deeper understanding and connection with your dog. HINT: this program won’t really look like training at all!
What You'll Learn In Cat's Compass
As the name suggests, Cat’s Compass is a little bit different—okay, a *lot* different (lol!). This program is for those who want more from their training, who crave a deeper connection and understanding of their dog, and who want to approach training in a more intuitive, relationship-centered way.
In this unique, personalized program, I will guide you and your dog on a one-of-a-kind journey into the heart of the human-canine bond.
Throughout the program, you will explore your dog and your relationship through eight distinct lenses, each opening new doors and windows to deeper insights. Each of these lenses offers countless opportunities for growth and exploration. The program follows cycles of observation, reflection, and adaptive action, each deepening your understanding of who your dog truly is and helping you co-create a home, relationship, and family with your dog that goes far beyond anything you ever thought possible.
You will learn about:
- micro-communication,
- intuitive (as in instinctive, not metaphysical) interspecies communication
- instinctive patterns
- self-expression
- barriers to growth
- relationship dynamics
- proxemics (the language of personal space)
- sensory and sensory development
- social and group patterns
- movement patterns
- “secret handshakes”, dialects and slang in dog-human-relationships (thank you, Brian Fleming!)
- cooperation, competition, and conflict
- how your dog learns
- emergent interventions
- and SO much more!
What types of behaviors might change as a result? While I can’t guarantee specific training or behavior change outcomes, I would expect issues like leash pulling, listening, manners, and even reactivity to start “vanishing”—without directly addressing these behaviors.
