Therapy Tails Level 3 - Public Skills
Class Details
Therapy Tails Level 3 – Public Skills is a specialized training class in Calgary for dogs and handlers reaching the final stage of their journey toward becoming a Therapy Dog, Service Dog, or Animal-Assisted Therapy team.
Designed for teams who have completed Therapy Tails Level 2 – Working Skills, this class takes your training on the road—literally. In this 12-hour program (8 x 1.5-hour field trips), you’ll refine your teamwork, obedience, manners, therapeutic skills, and tasks in real-world settings like malls, stores, transit, coffee shops, and hospitals. You’ll also learn essential public access protocols and dynamic problem-solving skills to navigate public spaces with confidence and ease.
Like every great road trip (cue your favorite playlist), this journey requires both a clear roadmap and reliable roadside assistance. We’ll be there to guide, support, and challenge you as you and your dog prepare for the demands of real-world environments, ensuring you’re public-access ready and equipped for success.
Is your team ready for this final (official) leg of the journey? (P.S. There’s a Level 4 for those who’ve caught the Therapy Tails travel bug!) Join Therapy Tails Level 3, pack your (training) bags, and get ready to step into the real world with confidence!
